Dr Nathan Curran
Longevity & Functional Medicine Specialist
Regenerative & Precision Medicine
Dr Nathan Curran is a longevity and functional medicine specialist with one of the most distinctive clinical backgrounds of any practitioner working at the frontier of regenerative and precision medicine today. His career has been shaped by a single conviction: that the gap between how long people live and how well they live is not inevitable, and that closing it requires medicine to move far ahead of where it currently stands.
He trained at Stellenbosch University in South Africa, earning his medical degree alongside an intercalated honours degree in Human Genetics, a combination that gave him an early and unusually deep grounding in the biological mechanisms that drive ageing, disease susceptibility and individual variation in health outcomes. He began his clinical career in emergency medicine and infectious diseases before relocating to the UK in 2005.
Over the next two decades, Dr Curran operated exclusively in the City of London, providing healthcare to some of the world’s leading blue-chip institutions: Google, Deutsche Bank, Bank of America Merrill Lynch and BNP Paribas. That environment was instructive in ways that went beyond clinical medicine. It gave him a granular understanding of burnout, performance decline and stress-related illness in high-demand professional environments, and it made clear that conventional, symptom-focused care was structurally unable to address what was actually driving poor health in high-performing people.
That recognition drew him towards functional medicine and, more recently, to the emerging science of longevity. His postgraduate training includes a Diploma in Nutritional Medicine from the University of Surrey, a Diploma in Occupational Medicine and advanced specialist training in the most current geroprotective and regenerative protocols. Today his practice integrates multi-omic diagnostics spanning genomics, epigenomics, proteomics, metabolomics and microbiomics, alongside hormone harmonisation, immune restoration, geroprotective agents and regenerative therapies including peptides, photobiomodulation, stem cells, plasmapheresis and EBOO.
His expertise has been recognised across the national and international press, with features in The Financial Times, British Vogue, Tatler’s 2025 Address Book, Harper’s Bazaar and The Telegraph, positioning him at the forefront of longevity and regenerative medicine in the public conversation. He has also worked extensively with elite professional athletes across Premier League football, professional cycling and competitive weightlifting, applying the same precision diagnostic approach to performance optimisation and recovery that he brings to long-term health.
Dr Curran joined The Schoeman Clinic because the methodology reflects what he has always believed: that genuine longevity medicine requires the whole picture, not a panel of specialists each looking at one part of it.
